Greetings to everyone in this community. Hope everyone is doing fine.Today the weather was sunny after a long time so I thought to make something creative and made a fanart of a anime character Monkey D. Luffy, the main protagonist of the anime and manga One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda.
Luffy is known for his iconic straw hat, scar under his eye, and his carefree but determined personality so I tried my best to recreate every important part of his personality and here is how it turned out:
I made this fanart in almost 3 hours and I really enjoyed the process.The hair part was my favourite and I really focused on that part.
So let me tell you the procedure of how i made it.
1)sketchbook
2)marker colours
3)black marker
4)pencil
5)scale
I started the sketch from the mouth part.Then i made the hair part and then body.I spent most of my time on the mouth part because it was a bit tricky.So I made it slowly and steadily.The bottom part was easy as compared to hair and mouth.
Then i took my black marker and traced the whole sketch.This part is the most satisfying part because when you trace the sketch it highlights every feature and the sketch starts looking so beautiful.
Then i started coloring the body.Firstly I colored his clothes and then started on the hairs.Initially my plan was to color it with black marker but then i thought it may look messier so i made them with a sketching pencil and i turned out to be a good decision thankfully.
Then i colored his iconic straw hat and its done.
And here's the final look.
