Strikes at Barcelona airport have caused delays of up to eight hours for weary travellers, as workers are accused of are taking advantage of the European passport chaos to cause as much mayhem as possible in a bid to win an industrial dispute.
New EU regulations for non-Schengen members have seen seemingly endless border queues at several airports in Spain, France and Italy.
Today, several hour-long 'mini strikes' have been held today at El Prat airport to deliberately cause even longer queues, and similar action will continue on Sunday and next week.
Passengers caught up in the mayhem at Barcelona airport today tweeted their anger at the delays.
