Now even though Jesus supposedly came from Nazareth and was Jewish he is often portrayed as being very, very Caucasian. It probably comes as an uncomfortable truth that he would bear more of a resemblance to the chap in the image above. However, let us not bog ourselves down in reality, nor get bothered by the systematic whitewashing of this figure.
Let us instead go back to some fundamentals - did he even exist? Much more learned people than myself have investigated the options but I struggle to agree with the majority of researchers as the work tends to be limited to people that believe in God - they are de facto not objective.
The Romans were a pedantic bunch and very keen on keeping records of everything. I know from the records who built the Roman Empire sewers in Bath, UK, because there is a record. I know who paid taxes and who did not, because they kept records. The Romans liked to document everything, to the point that they took scribes everywhere with them. The ancient peoples of my own country were first written and described by the Romans. They really liked a good record. I can even find out who was shagging who 2000 years ago, because they kept records. Get where I am going with this?
So, I find it difficult to imagine that they completely failed to write down a record of a zombie Jew who had amazing skills in catering and medicine. This chap managed to "ascend to heaven" but completely failed to grab the notice of a single Roman.
So, I call bullshit on this one too. It simply does not tally with reality - like much of the Bible.
I feel an essay about Noah's Arc coming on, who want's to read about that?
