I am Argentinean and I think you are right. Nobody really knows if Milei is going to favor crypto or not, nor if he has the power or the possibility to do so. He has come out in favor of currency freedom. For many it could be a good idea, but if you look at the reality of the country, it is not clear that something like that can be done without great suffering on the part of Argentines.
What I can tell you is that Argentines are adopting more and more crypto (mainly stablecoins) not because this or that politician is in favor of bitcoin, but because we know that what is coming is not good, whoever the president is, and crypto is the only way to protect ourselves without having to buy dollars in the parallel market and keep them at home. It's sad, but that's how common people are adopting crypto here.
