Hello everyone! For this post I would like to share and discuss a set of 3 decks that were on my mind during this Weekend event: Death OtL, Magic Coronet Combo and Light Aggro with Ward. Thanks for reading!

Death Rockdrake OtL without Thanetars

This Rockdrake / OtL OTK deck made by King Mushy caught my eye, because it doesn't use Deathwish Thanetar and is significantly cheaper than for example the lists that Kargas uses. And all the while leveraging one of the less popular but nevertheless interesting Light's Verdict Epic cards, An Empire Reborn. And with a Creator win rate close to 70% (in 36 matches at the moment), it seems to be as good as the most expensive versions when piloted by an experienced player.

Magic Coronet Combo

I lost against this deck during the weekend, but not before being surprised to see it played in Ranked Mode after the nerf to 5 mana. At 55% win rate it is not exactly a first pick, but is easily one card change away from becoming a bit more consistent. Will it happen? Probably not. There is also a single Portal Wrangler here too, and I'm not entirely sure why. If you have an idea, leave a comment!

Light Aggro with Ward

The decks that recently have been taking me to Ethereal Diamond have not worked to sustain me there. One of the most troublesome counters I kept finding there is Aggro Light, particularly with lots of warded creatures. So I had a look at the top decks (this one and this one), but they use HBKs and Lysander's Spear, which I don't have. So I took those decks as template and made a few modifications, but still leaning on warding creatures, with Serene Blade. Then I replaced the 2x Vexing Vicar for 2x Humble Benefactor and added Thestor, which I just recently bought with rewards from the CommunityGaming tournament ๐Ÿ˜.

I'm now testing Eucos in Eclipse instead of a Dryder Sailweaver, mainly because Deception is a really hard matchup and not that uncommon to go against. And guess what? This deck got me to Mythic today! And now I'm wondering if I need 2x Inquisitor Informant, because many times I'm locking down a creature that is going to get buffed and hurt me more later on. Maybe swap for a Imperious Smite?
