Last week 2 Bitcoin ETF's hit the Toronto Stock Exchange! For a couple years there I really wasn't sure if we would ever see the day, but things move fast in crypto.
Here we are in 2021 and Cannabis is legal and I can park BTC ETF's in my tax free investing account. A thing of beauty!
February has come and gone and BTC held onto gains of nearly 36%, another excellent month!
Historically March is disappointing but we're mid bull run and crypto is more popular then at any other time in history.
Add to that the USD money supply has just been massively inflated to the tune of 25% in 2020 alone, and new stimulus is likely to receive final approval shortly.
If there was ever a time to have a good month of March, it would be now, so there's that.
Thank you @jrcornel for pointing me to this chart in your recent post.
Based on the length of the 2012 bull run if we're lucky we'll have another 5-6 months left in this run? However, if I'm reading this correctly the 2016-2017 bull run was considerably longer.
Maybe that becomes a trend and the current bull run sees gains month to month right into 2022, that would be epic.
To add fuel to the fire ETF's are starting to roll out here in North America starting in Canada with two investment firms launching multiple ETF's in the same week!
Purpose Investments actually launched 3 different Bitcoin ETF's on the TSX this past Thursday, February 25th. All have a 1% management fee, with the hedged version of the ETF (BTCC) containing 0.00016400 BTC per share, and was recently trading a little above NAV.
Purpose also launched in tandem a direct price exposure non hedged CAD version and a non hedged USD version, BBTC.B & BBTC.U respectivley.

Evolve ETF's launched two Bitcoin ETF's this past Friday, February 19th.
Similar to Purpose Investments both of these ETF's are eligible to be held within registered accounts such as TFSA and RRSP, two of Canada's tax deferral investment accounts. Evolve's ETF's are subject to a 0.75% management fee.

Taking all this information into account does it make sense to gain exposure to BTC in these registered accounts now?
Sure seems like there's legs left on the current bull run. If that's the case then there could be gains to made here.
There's a limited amount of trading that can happen with a TFSA before it's classified as business income but you enough wiggle room to move in and out of positions and adjust for trends in the market.
If you were Canadian, would you consider any of these assets for a registered account?
Ciao for now,
