I like this story very much...I'm a science fiction enthusiast, and you cover all the basis so that the setting and action are credible. The story held my interest from beginning to end. The important part here is that you tell a complete story in this piece, even though it is part of something larger. You seem to know our rules (Inkwell rules). We don't curate serials or chapters, but if these stand alone as complete stories they are fine. Also, you have commented meaningfully on two other stories in the community.

Let me say that a great part of this story for me is that you open up possibilities. We don't know her brother is dead. It is believed. I'm rooting for the brother. Great ideas in here and great writing.
