Of course you see it all, in your head. Every bit of the world you describe is consistent. We see it all. The descriptions are brilliant. The idea of a synthetic species descended from humans and birds...amazing.
I feel though (the second time I read this) that it is a part of something larger. It seems we've dropped in the middle of the story.
The great escape...was there a catastrophe on earth and humans had to leave? The synthetic planet...because humans need resources? The synthetic creatures...because humans need workers?
A lot of unanswered questions.
However, the most intriguing is where you end.
Kanan will soon be a suitor. A suitor is synonymous with a hunter. Then there is
Diahna, the exotic stranger,” he said. “Forbidden love.”
Kanan makes Irene uncomfortable with his piercing stare. What does she really know about the mating habits of this species??
Is it just me, or are you leaving the story open for a rather dramatic development.
You are a great writer. In this case, I did want to know more. I'm a reader who likes answered questions :)
