My dear @riverflows, Opposite sides of the globe and yet there is resonance. I sanitize every morning. Bathroom faucets, refrigerator door opening, door knobs, light switches. But, the night before I may

I think she's happy. When things reach this stage, all we have is love. Grandma will know that no matter the prison her body has made for her. Wishing you and your family continued peace.

I notice, as I go to appointments with my husband, that there are two worlds. There's one world patients occupy and a world for the well. It's an invisible line. I don't know if the line is in the minds

But still... I think, if you had someone to do it with, to share the struggle, it would be more tolerable. Most of these people seemed to be alone...

Oh wow, you were something, weren't you? Where were you when I was setting up house? I had no idea how to be a suburban person, a suburban 'housewife'. Maybe I did know but I didn't care. My mother always

Thank you very much @discovery-it 🌟

It is a sad movie, and yes, very thoughtful. In a way, though, it's not that sad, because she gets on with her life and she meets good people on the road. I really think you will enjoy this.

I do highly recommend it. Watch it when you in a good mood, because it is rather sad.

I never knew what Nomadland was about, though I've heard of it of course, particularly Chloe Zhou's achievement. I was thinking about how 'real' this was. Most of it is not scripted, but part of it is.

Hello dear @kemmyb, we then have to figure out who we are afterwards. Do we have to courage to go it alone? I don't know if I would. I think a nomadic lifestyle would be daunting for me, although maybe

One of the most persuasive and compelling pieces I ever read (almost 60 years ago) was Bertolt Brecht's "Mutter Courage und Ihre Kinder". Your blog echoes what Brecht was trying to tell us in

Hello @goldgrifin007, There are a lot of very poor people in the U.S. A lot of them would love to have a camper. The poorest of the poor live on the street, in tents. It takes money to keep up a camper.

Thank you, @storicious and @topcomment!

A great review. The senseless nature of the duel seems to parallel the senseless nature of the Napoleonic Wars. All that blood shed for the sake of one man's ego.

Ray is just amazing. Of course I grew up listening to Ray Charles music in the 50s. The movie was a revelation to me.

This is so adorable, @geila 🐕😇.

I remember this movie. Foxx is great. Cruise, as you say, is Cruise, though even more so in this movie. In a way he reminds me of Swarzenegger in his early films: A robot-like role that doesn't demand
