RE: War Crimes at Sea: A Personal and Historical Perspective
I came along and vented. By all means vent. It gives me heart that people feel strongly about this. You are not trying to persuade me. You know I agree. I was trying to present an argument in a way so

RE: The optimal number of deaths
As I read this I thought of the tradeoff a parent makes every day. Optimal risk would mean locking the child away. Not letting the child go to camp. Not letting the child drive, go out with friends, travel.

I'm still unsure of why they'd just blindly bomb boats though. There is no clarity on this. We are in a strange place now in my country. People are trying to figure out what the president can do without

RE: #ThoughtfulDailyPost - Overthinking, Discipline and the Rest
Worrying--oh my do I have to remind myself of this. If there is nothing to be done about an impending event, why ruin today worrying about it. This comes in handy why I'm flying (actually, came in handy,

RE: A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE RAT IN THE KITCHEN SINK CABINET
I guess I'm the natural audience for this blog. Surely you remember my saga with my daughter's mice? A mated pair turned into 23. 23 white mice that took over my dining room (17X 9 feet!). There were aquariums

Hi @litguru, I haven't read your story yet, but @jayna says it's wonderful. Later, when things calm down around here and I have time to pay close attention I will read this myself. As for the comments.

Hello @seki1 The bombings are something that's kind of specific to this hemisphere. The U.S. is asserting dominance apparently in what it considers its sphere of influence. Citing drug trafficking as the

Was the firebombing of Dresden in '45 a war crime? Yes! Do you know about Operation Paperclip I knew about the program...didn't know what it was called. Unit 731 I knew about the Japanese experiments on

I have a lot of personality flaws. One thing about me, though, I don't give up. The harder they push, the more determined I become. I do think we can't give up. The long history of the human race...so

I'm older than you, probably by a generation. I grew up in the shadow of WWII. The Japanese atrocities were very much a part of my consciousness. I try to let it go, but that's hard. I can't fathom how
