Yes, I read that in the Wikipedia piece. Her life is remarkable on so many levels. I like that she understood she was exploited, that other men, rich men, were taking credit for her work. She didn't accept

Thank you, @kpoulout and @topcomment :)

Thank you for that! What a remarkable life. Although I am a passionate feminist (in the old sense--wanting equal rights, not all the new issues recently incorporated into the movement) I think being a

You did say that since your operation you wanted to get in as much travel as possible, because you are on a clock. But we're all on a clock. In a way your misfortune is a gift, because you have the urgency

That is really, really horrible. After living a long life I've come to realize that there is nothing extraordinary about being ill. It is another state of being. Our time will come, and then we must learn

¿Qué culpa tiene un hijo de guerras y subdesarrollo? A passionate poem. We shouldn't speak of 'people'--it's too general. 'People' are generic. A child, one child with a hungry stomach and waiting

Couldn't think of anything to say about running away. But I did have a story about a thing: Secret Life of an Object

I hope you have a beautiful day too, my friend @kemmyb. I was often a square peg in a round hole. School wasn't a good environment for me because I was a little odd, and didn't bend easily. Some of those

I'd love to hear that story--zenith to nadir :) Contradictions indeed...I am quite lazy, can spend a day reading and puttering around. But challenge me, tell me I can't do something, and I'm on fire :)))

Of course I'm right. I've examined my motives. Double checked my sources. Traced my thought process. I can stomp my foot and assert with confidence that I am right. But how do I really know that unless

I think it's funny the way you made a story out of the difficulty of these two ladies--the way you followed their progress (lack of progress) and raised the experience to an observation on travel culture.

😂 Jack and the Beanstalk? We sold a house a couple of years ago. My daughter had her heart set on a price, because we needed that price to buy the house we wanted. Our house was not in good shape. We

You made me really, really hungry! Everything in that resort was spectacular.. By the time I reached the end of the post I forgot about all the beautiful pictures in the beginning. You're right...the

I began to copy some of the more striking lines, and then I stopped, because there are so many. The poem was meaningful when I read it. Then I listened to @zekepickleman's song. The phrasing highlighted
