School Year 2020-2021 was indeed an amazing and challenging year for me. I have been through its ups and downs as if I am on a roller coaster ride. Atop of this ride, all I see were the bigger opportunities and wisest perspective I gained and lost and either way I am blessed for both because it made me the human being I am now - bolder, determined, humbled, loved, strong and valued.
I too am blessed with an opprotunity to lead and serve in spite and despite of my bruises, flaws, scars and wounds in life. At the bottom, the ride has taught me humility and simplicity which were both difficult to master and emulate. There's a moment of swallowing one's pride and keeping one's voice to silence in order not fuel arguments. At the middle of this ride, I got to be acquainted with new people. Some stayed, others left and it saddens me to lose people who are starting to shelter a space in my heart. In its motion, the ride has allowed me to experience butterflies flying in my stomach.
I had given a chance to meet special persons whom I fell in love, but lost the chance to make deeper connections and lasting relationship with. And during the ride's momentary stop, I was confronted by situations that tested my capacity to choose and decide where I made bad choices and wrong decisions - be it in my emotions, physical health, career, and finances.
Along the ride, I ponder upon God's plans for me in this passing year and that is to prune my person according to His divine design and attune my life according to His greatest will. It was painful. Yes, indeed. When God pruned me, I had to be disconnected from some of my parts which were once attached on me but now cut off to allow the spring of new chances and hopes in my life.
Moreover, the pruning taught me to forgive, let go and move forward. Yes, there are parts that remain to stay forever as memories - treasured and valued and are kept safe in the fertile ground of my heart.
Now as I turn another teaching chapter in my life and call it school year 2021-2022, I will move forward as my heart will go on and on with optimism, child-like faith and mature obedience thus, prayerfully anticipating that the coming year is filled with God's grace and providence. School Year 2021-2022, my heart will go on and on with you!
