Every week I give my 5 biggest takeaways from the most recent Town Hall. This week was special though as there are so many exciting things coming so I have some extra!
- Waka Spiritblade Is The First Of Many
There has been plenty of buzz around the upcoming Waka promo card, but I think the biggest takeaway is that this is a proof of concept to bring the game more mainstream and add more cool cards into the collection. Waka is supposed to be the first of many similar promos and I can't wait to see what is next.
- League Specific Reward Chests
Aggroed mentioned that the upcoming rewards update could add league specific chests which could make things very interesting. For those in Bronze (and even Silver), opening one or a couple of chests after struggling through your quest can feel like a waste of time. League specific reward chests would ideally have more in quantity but maybe less chances of top prizes. Either way, it leads more rolls of the dice which would be more exciting for everyone.
- Battle Pass/Skins
There was a question about Battles Passes and Skins, similar to what other top games offer in terms of cosmetic upgrades that players can get. It's a great idea in theory but I tend to agree with Nate that it could make things very confusing in the game. Not that it isn't possible, but it doesn't seem like high priority.
- Streamer Mode
For all the streamers out there who cover tournaments, I think this is a fantastic idea. The new mode will allow you to watch tournament battles without knowing who wins before you hit Rumble. From an e-sports perspective this will make things way more exciting for those following.
- Bear Market Marketing
This was something Chatter addressed and Aggroed chimed in on, but it's important to remember that the overall crypto market is in bear mode right now and everything tends to follow Bitcoin's lead. I appreciate the team trying different avenues to reach new players and am hopeful that as things pick back up in the next 1-3 years those efforts will bear fruit.
