The question really is more, our regulations are helpful or harmful to cryptocurrency blockchain and of course bitcoin?
We Should Not ‘Scurry to Keep Pace’ With Fintech, Says CFTC Commissioner
All of the big banks and trading companies, they are all looking to leverage this new asset class. When they're managing their money for their clients. they are looking at the assets that have a growth potential in front of them.
So probably, when you look at the messages coming out of the CFTC, probably they are bullish on blockchain, probably they see the value that they can add that it's a new asset class.
And again their job is to regulate and also to encourage an environment where new asset classes are created and as each asset class in the global economy has been exploited to one end or another or leveraged as far as they can go, the CFTC wants to encourage the development of new asset classes, so that those within the sector will have new places to invest their money.
So on the one one hand, they are serving the sector that they have the most influence over by creating a larger playing field but on the other hand this is going to help cryptocurrency as well as we move into the next decade.
So it's kinda good to see things out of the CFTC, probably these two fellows are speaking well on behalf of cryptocurrency and if that opens the way for major investment, then probably we are going to see the influx of billions if not trillions of dollars.
