In this era where many has switched to the career of being a content creator, and at the slightest moment you can ever think of, a video recording or camera pictures have been taken with no control over how it is been used, where it is been used and who used it.
There were times when chaos got too rampant on the social media space over fights of "I told you to take down those pictures or videos as long as I'm showing in it. It's against my wish and you did not get my consent" and so on which causes rifts between two or more influential people or actors. Some were even pictures that the other party was aware of because they took the pictures together willingly but then, probably because of the outcome of the result not favouring the both parties in terms of been beautiful, she went against it totally and asked that the picture be taken down. Let alone pictures took without one's consent at all.
But how do we go about solving this whole mess? Fart that comes with salt. You can't withold the smell of a fart or be swallowed and salt as well can't be spit away.
Creating content mostly has to do with originality and if you as a person in this career want to excel in this course, then your originality must be in your own unique way and I think this is the more reason why these creators go as far as they can to get raw contents.
However, we won't fully conclude that since it is bringing funds to some pockets then the inconveniences of others should be waved off. Rather, I'll say that it may be better for guidelines to be put in place so that people's privacy even in the public can still be maintained.
There is always a function of blurring third party's faces in your video while editing if they are not your target audience and interviewee but their faces end up showing. It saves you a lot than proceeding and having to take down a post that probably gave you more views and audience unless it's a deliberate act of recording someone's weakness to get fame for yourself. Then that's where the crime and unlawful act is.
Taking a public shot definitely may not be too "out of boundary" because people's faces doesn't really show unlike when it is a one-on-one shot.
Guidelines would help and will be easy to follow such as;
than saying they are not allowed to take public pictures shots anymore.
It's just like saying I should not use pencil anymore when I wanna draw. For some cases of drawing that doesn't have to do with painting, I won't be able to concur to such laws.
The day I saw myself on Tiktok standing behind a song minister that was ministering and I was just there dancing and doing my own thing. I was amazed cos I never knew when the recording captured me but I wasn't also too surprised cos same is also been done whenever and wherever I go to minister in songs too.
But in cases like that, I think people do not really complain cos it's a good cause and a good place to be seen.
