Introduction
What has been happening in Venezuela for the last few years can be considered as the worst crisis in the country’s history. The decrease in the size of the economy, in the purchasing power of the people and in every economic and social metric we can think of has been devastating.
A few days ago it was reported that more than 8,000 Venezuelans entered Peru in a single day. It is an incredibly high number especially because Venezuela and Peru don’t share borders. This is another example of the desperation that a lot of Venezuelans have to escape socialism and the destruction it brought to the country.
As we have been discussing for several weeks, collapses like this one don’t happen by accident, they are always caused by a series of erroneous political decisions that with enough time, can mess up any civilization, let’s not forget that Venezuela is not the first country destroyed by the totalitarian ideology of socialism.
In today’s article, I am going to continue with the discussion about the measures that were originally written in Karl Marx’s book, and as always, I will give my own opinion regarding if these measures were applied in Venezuela or not.

Karl Marx measures
The next measure says the following thing:
- Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country Source: I would say this measure was applied. The chavistas expropriated a lot of food-related companies and convinced the workers they will no longer be “exploited”. Eventually, a lot of these companies ended up in bankruptcy, probably due to the government's looting over the company's assets, and when food scarcity became a real problem, one of the “solutions” was to encourage people to produce their own fruits and vegetables from their own homes.
Effectively, erasing the invisible lines between city life and country life. It is clear that not anyone decided to start producing their own food from their home, but some people tried to see if they were capable of growing some food in their backyard. But inevitably, thanks to the destruction of a lot of food companies, there is still a lot of scarcity going on. There is nothing wrong with people freely deciding to grow food in their homes, but if it is the government who encourages this thanks to the nationwide food scarcity, then it goes from being a fun activity to a worrisome one.
There was an embarrassing case where an indoctrinated woman was encouraging the people to grow their own food, suddenly she mentioned the scarcity of acetaminophen which is a well-known analgesic that help sick people. This medical drug is produced in laboratories, but this person, being an indoctrinated chavista, said everyone should sow their own acetaminophen plant, as if this medication was something that can grow from the ground… This is the level of ignorance and stupidity that we can find with the chavistas. For those who wish to see the video, it can be found here. Some years ago, it was the Minister of Agriculture of that time, Emma Ortega, that said people should grow food even if they only had some old bottles or cans available to do it…
A very troubling statistic is that currently, Venezuela is only producing 20% of the food it needs to satisfy the demand, the rest of the food needs to be imported and not everyone is able to pay international prices for the imported food. It is known very common to see Venezuelans with international incomes but living inside the country doing online purchases from The United States, because the prices of some products are lower in that country, despite the salaries and incomes in Venezuela being only a small fraction compared to those that Americans can easily earn.
On the other hand, the measure also says “a more equable distribution of the populace over the country”, this is something that wasn’t applied or achieved in Venezuela because people aren’t moving around inside the country, Venezuelans either stay where they are living or they simply move to another country in what seems to be the biggest exodus in the history of not only the country, but the region as well.
It is reported that there are currently around 800,000 Venezuelans in Peru, and 1,200,000 in Colombia, in total there are estimates that put the total number of Venezuelans living abroad in around 5 millions. Given the fact the school year is about to end, I would guess there are a lot of families waiting for their children to finish school to move to another country in the coming months, so the exodus will probably accelerate once we enter the months of July and August.
The solution for the problems that Venezuela is currently facing is not an easy solution, the chavista regime is not a normal government because they deal with drugs and have relations with terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, besides, their socialist ideology resulted in the total impoverishment of the people. The peaceful solution which is what Guaido (the interim president recognized by the free world) is trying to achieve doesn’t look like it will succeed, so there is only one alternative which consists in a military operation between Colombia, Brazil, The United States, and some Venezuelans military personnel that are against the chavistas. Together, those 4 military bodies could effectively defeat not only the chavistas, but all the criminal and the terrorists groups that are using Venezuela as a safe haven for their operations (guerrillas, drug cartels, and Islamic terrorists).
On a personal note, I don’t see how this problem can be fixed in a peaceful way, the chavistas are indoctrinated people with all sort of links to other criminal groups, they have stolen billions of dollars thanks to Venezuelan oil and they have said time and time again, that they will never leave power no matter what. The solution seems to be a local war against these socialists totalitarians. Otherwise millions of Venezuelans will continue to suffer.
Conclusion
In this article, I expanded a little bit further the discussions about Venezuela and the measure from Karl Marx book, and I shared my opinion about the current situation, and the potential solution to the worst crisis in the country’s history. I invite everyone, but especially fellow Venezuelans, to share their thoughts and opinions about this topic and explain what do you think is the best solution to solve all the problems caused by the socialist revolution.
