SHAWARMA
El Shawarma o kebab es una receta originaria del medio oriente, cuenta la historia que durante un conflicto bélico los guerreros cocinaban la carne apilada en sus espadas y usaban un pan redondo y chato como plato.
The Shawarma or kebab is a recipe originating in the Middle East, the story goes that during a war, the warriors cooked the meat piled on their swords and used a round and flat bread as a plate.
El shawarma se trasladó hacia los hogares convirtiéndose en un plato tradicional de las casas libanesas y árabes en general. Cada lugar acogió su propia receta logrando diversificar los sabores del shawarma hasta incorporar carne de res, pollo y otros ingredientes y salsas.
Shawarma moved into homes becoming a traditional dish in Lebanese and Arab homes in general. Each place adopted its own recipe, managing to diversify the flavors of the shawarma to incorporate beef, chicken and other ingredients and sauces.
En Venezuela es común usar salsas básicas como ketchup y mayonesa, pero también podemos verlos con salsas mas complejas y de origen árabe.

De cualquier manera un shawarma es delicioso en todas sus presentaciones.

Cook the bacon until golden brown, you can do it in the oven or directly in the pan.
Season the meat and cook it. It should be juicy, but not raw. To season the meat a little more add garlic sauce.
Put the Arabic bread on the counter and add the sauces one by one, for the shawarmas we use ketchup, mayonnaise and garlic sauce.
Add the vegetables, for this recipe use sliced tomatoes, red onion, corn and pickle. You can add the ingredients that you like the most.
Add the meat throughout the bread, that way each bite will have meat.
Put the bacon last, along the whole bread.
Fold the bread like an envelope and then roll up completely. As seen in the photos.
