#Khunjerab Pass
The Khunjerab Pass is the highest International border in the world. The road on the both sides were completed in 1982. The place of Khunjerab Pass for International border decided in 1966.
It is around 270 KM far away from Gilgit (almost 6 hour drive) and 870 km from Islamabad. Khunjerab pass elevation is around 15000 ft because of that most of the times in winter the way to it is covered with Ice. Normally it is closed for public from November to May.
I visited this place in earlier part of May. You can see the Ice in my pictures. Due to height elevation of 15000 ft, it is not easy to breath. The precautions given by guide to us to don't run, dont do any hard activity. One of my friend was facing breathing problem up there so we returned. Hats off to the Boarder guards on both side (Pakistan / China) as they perform their duties and live there.
