The Turtle Brings a Story of Transformation and Sublimation / La Tortuga Trae una Historia de Transformación y Sublimación

This will be a very different curation post, because I'll simply tell you a story, the story of how Adiwa Thrive got to this point, and what we're planning for the future of the project. I'll arrange the links of the posts I'd like to promote within the structure of the story.

As you may have noticed, this week's posts look very similar to the ones we were making in our first month. You may be wondering what's changed, and the answer is: a lot, and we're working through it as we go. Although this is a Venezuelan project, our team is actually split across borders: two of us are in Colombia, the rest in Venezuela. Each location presents its own challenges and each individual has their own vision and focus. And there's always a point where these differences reveal cracks that must be mended, rough edges that must be smoothed out. It's like having different machines with their own intricate design, align to fulfill a singular purpose, much like in this post by @julianhorack regarding our three brains (which also comes with a nice reference to the Water Turtle).

Este será un artículo de curaduría muy distinto, porque simplemente les contaré una historia, la historia de cómo Adiwa Thrive llegó a este, y lo que estamos planeando para el futuro del proyecto. Ajustaré los enlaces de los artículos que quiero promover dentro de la estructura de la historia.

Como quizás hayan notado, los artículos de esta semana se ven bastante similares a los que hacíamos en nuestro primer mes. Pueden estarse preguntándose qué cambió, y la respuesta es: muchísimo, y estamos trabajando con eso en el camino. Si bien este es un proyecto venezolano, nuestro equipo de hecho está dividido por fronteras: dos de nosotros están en Colombia, el resto en Venezuela. Cada ubicación presenta sus propios retos y cada individuo tiene su propia visión y enfoque. Y siempre hay un momento en el que esas diferencias revelan fisuras que deben repararse, asperezas que deben limarse. Es como intentar que diferentes máquinas, con sus propios diseños intrincados, se alinien para lograr un propósito singular, como en este artículo de @julianhorack respecto a nuestros tres cerebros (que también viene con una bonita referencia a la Tortuga de Agua)

In my team, I have the privilege of working with profoundly admirable people, strong and powerful, wise and keen, each with a unique experience, a valuable perspective. However, we're all human, we must sometimes clash and let out some steam in order to grow, expand and learn how to flow together. Three weeks ago, noises that were right beneath the surface started working their way up and, although I wasn't involved at first, eventually I was called in as a mediator. I got in touch with each of the parties and resolved to hold a meeting where they'd vent their discomfort openly, without others intervening until their turn came. I forfeited my speaking right and merely opened the channel, laid down on my bed and started listening intently to everything that was being said, receiving every vibration.

At last, we resolved to take a two-week hiatus from publications to think things over. The meeting ended, but the process had only begun. In the interim, I kept in touch with everyone, but I sought my own distance as well. Then, in the first weekend of the hiatus, the parties decided to hold another meeting, this time by themselves. They chose to continue the project, but also decided that it had to be different.

But how different? Which way should we go? What should we do in order to really harness the potential of what we have created? There are no easy and simple answers to these questions. Like @indigoocean says in this great post, we're all wounded healers. Adiwa Thrive was born really fast and has grown a lot in a relatively short amount of time, now we have to slow down and start shaping it to suit our form. For that, we need to accept its mutability, to play with it.

En mi equipo, tengo el privilegio de trabajar con gente profundamente admirable, fuerte y poderosa, sabia y aguda, cada uno con una experiencia única, una perspectiva valiosa. Sin embargo, todos somos humanos, debemos chocar de vez en cuando y aliviar la presión para crecer, expandirnos y aprender a fluir juntos. Hace tres semanas, ruidos que estaban justo debajo de la superficie comenzaron a salir y, aunque no estuve involucrado al principio, eventualmente fui llamado para mediar. Me puse en contacto con cada una de las partes y resolví hacer una reunión donde mis compañeros pudiesen ventilar su incomodidad abiertamente, sin que otros interviniesen hasta que les tocase su turno. Renuncié a mi derecho de palabra y simplemente abrí el canal, me acosté en mi cama y comencé a escuchar atentamente todo lo que ellos decía, recibendo todas las vibraciones.

Finalmente, decidimos tomar dos semanas de descanso de publicar para poder reflexionar. La reunión culminó, pero el proceso apenas había comenzado. Mientras tanto, me mantuve en contacto con todos, pero también tomé mi distancia. Luego, en el primer fin de semana del descanso, las partes decidieron sostener otra reunión, esta vez sin mi. Acordaron continuar con el proyecto, pero también que tenía que ser diferente.

¿Pero cuán diferente? ¿Qué vía deberíamos tomar? ¿Qué deberíamos hacer para realmente aprovechar el potencial de lo que hemos creado? No hay respuestas fáciles ni simples a estas preguntas. Como @indigoocean dice en este gran artículo, todos somos sanadores heridos. Adiwa Thrive nació muy rápido y ha crecido mucho en un tiempo relativamente corto, ahora tenemos que bajar la velocidad y comenzar a moldearlo para que se adapte a nuestra imagen. Para eso, necesitamos aceptar su mutabilidad, jugar con ella.

The moment we resumed working together and revamped our admin group, I started thinking of the project's new graphic identity. Distilling the concept of what we're building in a design is tricky, especially because of that same diversity of thought and experience that we embody. The things that can bring us great wealth, can also hamper our evolution if we're careless or cling too strongly to our stances. With that in mind, I set out to draw some basic sketches.

My intention is to bring all of this energy into focus, but also leave it open for modification, as I knew that our job was just starting up and that we'd need to go through many phases before we could reach something resembling a definitive image. So my graphic plan is based on Transformation. Like everything else in the Universe, our plans and projects start with a series of separate elements, mostly in their raw form, that must be refined, combined and then sublimated. In essence, it's the same as Alchemy, and in that regard, go ahead an check out @traciyork's latest Tarot Tuesday Reading (I'm sure my teammates will find Temperance of particular interest), and also this nice, detailed post by @highlyfunctional, explaining one of her experiments putting together ingredients for a spell with a set intention.

Inmediatamente cuando reiniciamos el trabajo juntos y actualizamos el grupo de administradores, comencé a pensar en la nueva identidad gráfica del proyecto. Destilar el concepto de lo que estamos construyendo en un diseño es complicado, especialmente por esa misma diversidad de pensamiento y experiencias que encarnamos. Las cosas que pueden darnos gran riqueza también pueden estorbar nuestra evolución si nos descuidamos nos aferramos demasiado fuertemente a nuestras posturas. Con eso en mente, me puse a dibujar algunos bocetos básicos.

Mi intención es darle enfoque a toda esta energía, pero también dejarla abierta a la modificación, pues sabía que nuestro trabajo apenas estaba arrancando y que tendríamos que atravesar varias fases antes de que pudiésemos alcanzar algo parecido a una imagen definitiva. Así que mi plan gráfico está basado en la Transformación. Como todo en el Universo, nuestros planes y proyectos comienzan con una serie de elementos separados, la mayoría en su forma bruta, que deben ser refinados, combinados y sublimados. A Logo is a Sigil, a symbol meant to evoke an idea and also transmit a vibration. It's not just about the final product, but about the entire process by which that product was created. And producing this Logo is already offering me great insights about what Adiwa Thrive means to me, and to each of my colleagues.

These are only a few of the designs I came up with. I still have to work on this, to synthesize the energies better, but I managed to arrive to a form that everyone agreed to use in our comments and posts starting next week, along with some other work that I've been preparing, which will in turn be open to all sorts of modifications.

This is an incipient tale of accelerated birth, breaking, healing and change, and in every tale, we always grow from raw matter to refined aether, or as this great post by @jasonliberty explains, from Fear, Anger and Noise, to the elevated frequency of Love.

Thank you @auelitairene, @joseacabrerav, @acurewa, @neyxirncn, for your commitment, your effort and your respect. We may have different perspectives, but we're all ultimately seeking that aether, where Dreams, Visions and Reality merge, and where the Ancestral is also Divine.

Un Logo es un Sello, un símbolo creado para evocar una idea y también transmitir una vibración. No se trata solo del producto final, sino de todo el proceso que llevó crear ese producto. Y producir este Logo ya me está ofreciendo grandes revelaciones sobre lo que Adiwa Thrive significa para mí, y para cada uno de mis colegas.

Estos son solo algunos de los diseños que saqué. Aún debo trabajar en esto, sintetizar mejor las energías, pero logré llegar a una forma que todos acordaron usar en nuestros comentarios y publicaciones desde la próxima semana, además de otros trabajos que estoy preparando, que a su vez estarán abiertos a todo tipo de modificaciones.
Esta es una historia incipiente de un nacimiento acelerador, sanación y cambio, y como en todas las historias, siempre crecemos de la materia cruda al éter refinado, o como este gran post de @jasonliberty explica, del Miedo, la Ira y el Ruido, a la frecuencia elevada del Amor.

Gracias @auelitairene, @joseacabrerav, @acurewa, @neyxirncn, por su compromiso, su esfuerzo y su respeto. Quizás tengamos perspectivas distintas, pero en últimas instancias, todos estamos buscando ese éter, donde los Sueños, las Visiones y la Realidad se funden, y donde lo Ancestral también es Divino.
