There is this faithful Friday evening; this was after the heating sun for the day, which happens after the severe tension that happens between Mary and her best friend, Sandra. The sun reflects on the room of Mary using the window opening. The room that was always filled with laughter, smiles and joyful moments has now been silent and filled with uncertainty.

Mary moved both back and forth, with her thoughts shaking at a very fast pace. Several thoughts were flowing through her mind, and that was because she noticed that recently, her best friend Sandra had been distancing herself from her. This has been ongoing for a few weeks past as Sandra has started giving her excuses to be absent from their usual friendship meetings they always have.

It now looks like the friendship both of them have laboured to build for years is crumbling in the very eyes of Mary, but she was also wondering what might have happened that made Sandra distance herself from her or perhaps Sandra is keeping something from her. She was filled with so much uncertainty and unanswered questions.

"I still do not understand why Sandra was acting this way" Mary was muttering those words to herself while she was sitting on the bed in her room, thinking about the whole situation. "Why is she distancing herself from me?" This continues to build a whole lot of unanswered questions in her heart.

In just a few minutes, the doorbell in her room rang, and they cut short those thoughts flowing through her mind. She walked towards the door, and upon opening the door, she saw Sandra standing right in front of her with a smile on her face, but that smile can be seen to be a bit fainting. "Hello dear friend", Sandra greeted her even though her voice was light.

"Hello, Sandra," Mary replied ushering Sandra in. Their normal thick friendship bond greetings have long been lost and instead replaced by cautious formalities between both of them. Sandra was sitting in the chair right beside the room, and Mary returned to the usual position. She had been in bed earlier and still wondered what might have brought Sandra to her house at this time.

"I have been longing to talk to you, Sandra," Mary started her conversation and chose the usage of her words carefully. "I feel like we are not like before again, I feel like something is not just right between us any longer. "I begin to feel like you are hiding something from me, but I don't want to live in the assumption" Mary made her intentions known to Sandra and expected her response.

Sandra caught a bit of surprise with what Mary had just poured out, and the truth is, Mary was right, and she could not deny that at all. "Mary, actually to be sincere, I don't think it is what you think. It is not like I have been distancing myself from you or hiding something from you. It is just that I have been..... Filled up."

Mary's countenance changed as she felt that statement was not genuinely convincing enough to be accepted. "Filled up with what?" Mary responded.

Sandra, without wasting so many seconds, responded. "Actually, with so much work. The truth of the matter is, my boss at the workplace has been giving me so many tasks to carry out lately more than before, and that has been making me stressed out because I need to meet the deadlines of finishing those tasks".

"I have been trying to attend to those tasks that's why it looks like the distance is there. I have just been so busy lately, to be sincere with you, Mary. Trust me there is absolutely nothing more to this."

Mary is still staring at Sandra's face as she is not yet fully convinced about what she said and is still thinking whether she is deceiving her or not. All her beliefs were the fact that Sandra was hiding something from her or even wanted to break away from their friendship, but with what Sandra just said, Mary concluded that she had been wrong all this while in her assumption.

Sandra was just been sincere. She was struggling to battle a whole lot of things lately, and it has been tearing her apart. Work, family, personal life and many more have been tearing her up lately. It is just that Mary has been barking up the wrong tree all this while and allowing her wrong assumptions to control her without not finding the truth at first.

"Sandra, I am very sorry. I have been assuming wrongly all this while. "

Sandra responded. "No, not at all. I fully understand, dear friend. Sorry that I have created you all this while from my busy schedule. I have myself to blame for that Mary"

The room was told, and two friends were in the room. The tension earlier has died down and they begin to acknowledge their misunderstanding. Mary hugged Sandra as a sign of relief that their friendship had not yet broken and was ct
