Today will be looking at what government can do in order to combat the problem of unemployment.
But before going for the today let us quickly define what an unemployment.
Unemployment is a situation whereby the able-bodied men and women who are members of the labour Force cannot secure employment. That is people who have the necessary needed criteria to be employed are unable to be employed.
Let us for an example of a graduate of mechanical engineering graduating with a first class and having all thr necessary criteria to be employed but at the end of the day was unable to find the job.
Unemployment is an undesirable phenomenon in a country and assault any responsible government must address is self to the task of combating the problem.
It is a disturbing situation for any government of a country when the unemployment rate is at a high level. It is alarming and in which the government should find something to it.
I'll be using Nigeria as a case study in in explaining how government can take some measures to combat the problem of unemployment in the country
Among others the government of Nigeria for example contain the following measures to combat the problem of unemployment
One of such measures to combat the problem is provision of efficient transport facilities. This has the advantage of promoting labour mobility.
If one cannot get employment in one part of the country and transport system is efficient one can conveniently travel to other part of the country and be employed.
If there is no adequate tools needed to carry out a job at a state of a country and the other state in that same country have the required and adequate tool, with the help of good and quality transport system all that just need to be done is to move the labour force to that state and start the work or job rather there.
By this the efficiency of transport facilities have help in promoting the labour mobility.
Provision of infrastructural facilities in the rural areas like electricity and pipe Borne water is another step to combat the problem of unemployment in the country.
There are numerous industries that should have been created which in turn will have help in creating employment opportunities in the rural areas but due to the rural areas lacking the essential infrastructural facilities like water or electricity or even good road, it has prevented those industries from been established there.
Many people went to the cities in search of employment mainly because this infrastructure facilities are present there. They remain unemployed in the cities when they would have been gainfully employed in the countryside if they have remained there.
The government of the country could also make it a law that employers in both the public and private sectors should respond quickly to the yearnings of the employees and should not allow the situation to degenerate into strike on industrial action before they Grant the request of their employees.

Due to fast or non response to the employees complain, it has force some industries to go on strike. Employers can afford this by playing their part. Try to respond and assess the employees demand and don't always ignore them.
The government could also encourage small scale industrialist by granting them soft loans to set up industries where thousands of the citizen could be employed.
The government itself should undertake massive industrialisation programme where people of different skills could secure employment.
The government should also trained career advisors and let each local government area have at least a career adviser who will be going from one school to another to advise student on what course of studies to follow depending on their ability.
This we will do smart failure at the end of their causes thereby reducing the number of people roaming the streets in search of employment in our cities.
I will be stopping here for today. If you have any suggestions, questions or contribution please don't hesitate to drop it in the comment section below.
Thank you.
