To a layman language and definition, a teacher is someone who teach.
But actually to an extent, that definition is correct but is much more beyond that.
To my definition, a good teacher is that particular one with the mindset of impacting knowledge to his or her students and they are capable of putting the knowledge into practice
What really is the importance of a teacher if he or she is teaching but at the end of the day knowledge is not passed across.
A good teacher should be able to captivate his or her student when teaching.
What a teacher should carries
(1). Charisma of teaching.
Yeah A teacher should have this charisma of teaching and not teaching in a form of been forced to teach but teaching with a goal of impacting knowledge like I have said.
(2). Ability to keep the student following.
The teacher should have this ability of keeping his or her student to follow his teaching. You don't expect a teacher to teach and at the end of the day, the student are not attentive or rather not following, that will be waste of time.
(3). Know when your student are in the mood to be taught.
The teacher should be able to to detect the mood of individual student and be sensitive enough to know when they are in the mood to be taught or not.
(4). Be able to push student to the mood ready for teaching.
At first place, not all student will be in the mood to be attentive, to be taught but you as a teacher, you should have this ability of rechanging their mood to suit the mood ready to be taught.
(5). Asses their performance
As you are teaching as a teacher, you should be able to check their performance and see to yourself whether they are performing to your own teaching level.
In terms of scores, test or assignment.
