Hey everyone!
I’ve been spending more time lately observing the subtle beauty in stillness — how light bends, how shadows stretch, and how forms rest quietly in space. This piece is a still life study I did using charcoal and pencil, focusing on structure, contrast, and movement even within a quiet pose.
One thing I love about working in charcoal is how expressive and raw it can be. It gives room to layer, smudge, and push the drawing until it feels alive. This study really helped me pay attention to weight, gesture, and light. I’ve added some close-up shots so you can see the texture and strokes more clearly.
This was more than just a practice piece — it was a reminder to be patient with the process and to enjoy the depth in simplicity.
Would love to hear your thoughts!
