My name is Eva Eneremadu. I love cooking.
I am "oyinbo" married to Nigerian man. And this is how everything started.
My husband is little bit picky when it comes to food. I am from Czech Republic and naturally I have been cooking for him our national meals... With no success! I had no choice, I had to learn how to cook Nigerian food.
I started my research on internet, had long chats with my in laws, read blogs, watched videos and started to experiment.
The first Nigerian meal I have ever cooked is okro soup. I felt like I am hero. My beloved husband loved it and it encouraged me to learn to cook more and more meals. Akara, egusi, moi moi, ayamase stew, ogbono soup... From duty it became my biggest hobby.
I wanted to share my passion and experiences with another white women married to Nigerian men and I decided to write a blog In Love With Nigerian Food. For lot of ladies like me, African food is a big challenge. We all want to please our husbands but it is really hard to cook something what you don't know well or what you never tasted.
I spoke with some of my friends and they told me they gave up on cooking because they are afraid of failure. It inspired me to do another step, I opened Instagram and Facebook page where I am uploading food photographs and recipes. I want to show all my sisters that everyone can learn how to cook Nigerian food.
Everyone can get good results even if it is hard to get original ingredients.
I am giving them tips where to buy things like palm oil, spicy, egusi seeds etc and what to use if they can not find what they need in their local African shop.
My page and mainly my photographs were kind of successful among ladies from my country. Later I have got more and more followers from Nigeria. I began to write my recipes in my language, but my African followers motivated me to start with English too.
If I look back, I can't believe what happened in just few years. So many wives, girlfriends, mothers overcame their fear and they are cooking like never before.
And the main thing is, more and more people are falling in love with Nigerian food! What else can I wish for?
