The castle Gonobitz in Slovenske Konjice,Slovenia was once a pearl in the Dravinja Valley. It used to be the home of the Family Tattenbach. The first owners were the Knights of Konjice. This castle was in use from 1147 till 1826.

This area of our country used to be important in the Habsburg Times as a trade center.
Nearby lies an abandoned Monastery Žička Kartuzija, here is a photo that i took a couple of weeks ago:
In the Castle is an museum which is unfortunately closed.

From the castle is a trekking path to the highest peak of the Konjiška Gora Mountain. I will make some photos of the Mountain in the near future.
