Just practicing some values and making backgrounds in grayscale. I'll try overpainting once I get the hang of lighting and values. This is another version of my old red riding hood but instead of a battle axe, she learned mage craft.
I painted Gray Hood (Red Hood if painted over) in one layer and it's different from the line art approaches I've done since. Although none of that really shows on the end result but it's a nice exercise.

The magic circles was an old hobby and symbols are based off scribbles. If anyone wants to know what they even mean, they mean nothing.
