After 3 months of grinding through the leaderboard since I started playing the game, I managed to get the 1st place on all categories under the campaign and tribe tower. I'm mostly free to play type but this got me spending less than 200$ on the game over the course of 3 months on gacha waifus.

Here's an old post of mine introducing Nikke: Goddess of Victory Mobile Game.

The game's pretty generous when it comes handing out premium items and gems for everyone. It just takes you a few months to catch up with near end game content. There's some pay to win element but that ties to how much you're willing to gamble for special units if PvP is what you're after. But for story content, there's really no need to spend anything if you're willing to wait and grind your way.

Luck plays a major role in your overall progression because a low spender or non-spender can just be lucky doing gacha and build their ideal team composition early to breeze through the content. But for consistency, the right team composition matters too. Even if there is a large power difference between teams over PvP, the weaker team with a balanced composition can still win over a team that just relies on brute force. So it's not really a strict pay to win game as some people can just be unlucky or just too good at team building for the occasion.

I'm just going to toot my own horn here and say I got a lucky start getting the end game meta units early and enjoyed playing with the numbers and strategy to keep me on top of the leaderboard amidst peers that clearly spent a lot on their accounts.

But this accomplishment isn't that great on the overall scheme of things. The leaderboard I'm tied to will group my account to accounts that registered around the same time as I did. It doesn't mean I'm a big fish on SEA server, just on the small pocket servers. It just shows that compared to everyone else that started the same time as I did, I've progressed considerably.

A Video Recording of My Gameplay

I like this game as a time killer and it's been a rewarding ride knowing that I didn't have to spend more just to keep up with the top players as a large portion of the game is partly skill based. Nikke has a fun community over twitter and youtube which adds more flavor to the game experience. I do recommend giving this game a try.

Thanks for your time.
