Burdock is an edible wild plant that consists mainly of carbohydrates and oils. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects and has also been used in alternative cancer treatments.
The root is also called 'poor man's potato', and is part of the Japanese diet. In our part of the world we are most familiar with the tea made of burdock root.
