Hola, amigos de #HiveMexico. Una de las festividades más importantes de Atlixco el Pueblo Mágico en el que vivo es un festival llamado Huey Atlixcáyotl, en el cual se dan cita varios grupos culturales que buscan mantener vivas las diferentes expresiones culturales de la región de la Mixteca. Anteriormente, les había compartido una serie de fotografías y mi experiencia de lo que fue una parte del festival, ya que pensé que mi experiencia con el Atlixcáyotl había finalizado ahí, sin embargo, hace unos días salí de pasero al zócalo del pueblo y descubrí que en la galería municipal había una exposición con pinturas referentes al festival.
A principios del mes de septiembre ya habían hecho una exposición del festival, pero los cuadros no llamaron demasiado mi atención, ya que se trataban, en su totalidad, de los pósteres de cada edición del festival. Eran bonitos, pero no les encontré mucho atractivo. Esta nueva exposición, a diferencia de esa, está integrada de acuarelas que representan algunas de las danzas y momentos más emblemáticos del Atlixcáyotl, todas me parecieron hermosas y una gran representación de la cultura de la región. Además, la galería estaba adornada con papel picado y un gran mural, ofreciéndole al visitante una experiencia más atractiva.
La exposición constaba de quince obras, todas del mismo autor: Carlos Huerta Cerezo, quien es conocido en el pueblo de Atlixco como El Pintor del Atlixcáyotl. Esta exposición tuvo la duración de un mes, por lo que tuve una gran suerte de verla justo antes de que la retiraran y debo decir que me encantó. Las pinturas con acuarela tienen algo que me fascina, no sé si son los colores o lo delicadas que se ven todas, pero sinceramente todas las pinturas de esta exposición me parecieron hermosas. Aunque si tuviera que elegir una, esa sería "Danza Voladores de Cuetzalan", no solo la pintura está hermosa, sino que además representa a los voladores, los cuales son mi parte favorita del Atlixcáyotl y de cualquier evento cultural de la región.
Ahora solo queda aguardar para ver qué nueva exposición nos traerá la galería municipal para las festividades del "Día de Muertos".
Cultural Watercolors
Hello, friends of #HiveMexico. One of the most important festivities in Atlixco the Magical Town where I live is a festival called Huey Atlixcáyotl, which brings together various cultural groups that seek to keep alive the different cultural expressions of the Mixteca region. Previously, I had shared with you a series of photographs and my experience of what was part of the festival, since I thought that my experience with the Atlixcáyotl had ended there, however, a few days ago I went out to the town's main square and discovered that in the municipal gallery there was an exhibition with paintings referring to the festival.
At the beginning of September there had already been an exhibition of the festival, but the paintings didn't attract my attention, as they were all posters for each edition of the festival. They were nice, but I didn't find them very attractive. This new exhibition, unlike that one, is made up of watercolours representing some of the most emblematic dances and moments of Atlixcáyotl, all of which I found beautiful and a great representation of the culture of the region. In addition, the gallery was adorned with papel picado and a large mural, offering the visitor a more engaging experience.
The exhibition consisted of fifteen works, all by the same author: Carlos Huerta Cerezo, who is known in the town of Atlixco as El Pintor del Atlixcáyotl (The Painter of Atlixcáyotl). This exhibition lasted for a month, so I was very lucky to see it just before it was taken down and I must say that I loved it. There is something about watercolour paintings that fascinates me, I don't know if it's the colours or how delicate they all look, but honestly I found all the paintings in this exhibition beautiful. Although if I had to choose one, that would be "Danza Voladores de Cuetzalan ", not only the painting is beautiful, but it also represents the voladores, which are my favourite part of Atlixcáyotl and of any cultural event in the region.
Now we can only wait to see what new exhibition the municipal gallery will bring us for the "Day of the Dead" festivities.
