Every day I'm staring at the windows and dreaming of becoming like a bird. I want to be just like them, able to fly and be free. I want to spread my wings and roam around in the open field. And I'm jealous because they have the freedom to do what they want.
How many years has it been? That counts the years that I have been keeping everything to myself. I never complain because I wasn't courageous enough to say what I want. I was only allowed to listen and obey.
At first, everything was fine. Everybody's attention and sympathy are at me. No one failed to make me feel encouraged to fight and live. I was never sad. And it was what a person like me needed.
But as time goes by, the care that I receive went away too. I couldn't do something for the worst not to happen. I just woke up that one day no one ever came near me. Everyone disappeared, and I was left alone.
I cried, but I got tired. I realized how I'm wasting my time weeping for something that would never be the same again. I never thought that this could happen to me. I'm so helpless that I can't even get mad.
I feel sorry for myself. I don't know how to make my situation better. I'm only clinging onto hope that someday I wouldn't have to say things like this. I want to remember how to smile and how it feels to be happy.
For now, I wish this all could end like it never happened. I know that a child like me never deserves this kind of fate. And if one day I get to meet a person like me, I'll reach out to make that person feel that he is not alone. It's unbearable to live like this.
"You can rise up from anything. You can completely recreate yourself. Nothing is permanent. You're not stuck. You have choices. You can think of new thoughts. You can learn something new. You can create new habits. All that matters is that you decide today and never look back." ― Averstu
When you've fallen deep down to the bottom, how do you find the courage to get back up? Have you felt the same way? When do you think happiness is right?
