Moving into the topic for discussion we have - Dealing with Rejection. Have you ever been rejected? If yes how did you deal with it? Sometimes I know that is very difficult to get to say the exact thing that happened to one and why it happened. But for this topic I want to explain my little experience with rejection and how I was able to come out of it and still remains strong.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH REJECTION
15 Years ago I was battling with rejection because I wasn't educated and it was very very painful to be in that situation. That time of my life was one of the sadest moments. I hardly mingle with friends because I don't belong to them or their class. Each time we go out together they try to make me feel bad, they made sure I was not comfortable amongst them. Sometimes even when I made any observation or contribution no one takes me too serious. It wasn't as if someone told me what they had in mind, but I could see it from their actions that I am not needed there. Somehow I decided to be alone and see what to do with my life. At first I felt bad, but with the recent happening in my life I am so grateful that I moved away from those friends. It was the right choice and am glad I did.
THE CHANGE IN MY LIFE
At the time I left them I started thinking of correcting my mistake of stepping out of school. Though it was difficult but I was ready to deal with it as long as it will fix this problem of rejection. I wasn't trying to do it to be accepted, but I was building myself for the future. It was a very sweet bitter journey for me. Sweet in the sense that I went back to pick the pieces of myself and gain my self respect back and bitter in the sense that I wasn't prepared for the financial implications and it took me time to adjust. But I'm all I was just very ready for that rough road. It took me another ten years to gain my glory back and today the story have have changed.
LESSONS FOR ME
I have learnt through what happened to me that rejection can make you work on yourself and become a better version of yourself and you will be wanted by the same people who rejected you at first.
Secondly I have learnt never to give up on myself no matter what. People may give up on me, but the best of me is still on the way so I can't give up.
Because of that I will keep striving to bring the best of me out for the world to see.
