Many people have joined the moving train of the Web 3 platform, but some are still lacking behind. I love the Web 3 platforms because it offers a lot of opportunities and benefits than the Web 2 platforms. I will discuss the benefits of Web 3 and what's holding people back to join.
The monetization and user control features of Web 3 platforms are what I find most fascinating and the reason I adore them.
I will discuss two benefits that are so interesting in the Web 3 platform.
Content creation
Content creators earn directly from their content, which is in the form of tokens. Authors can tip each other or upvote each other's content.
These tokens signify ownership and value, enabling content creators to sell or save them in their wallets for future use.
A great example is our Hive ecosystem, whereby you earn from your content via upvotes from others.
The traditional platforms lack this important feature.
Since I have been posting on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram I haven't earned on my content creation.
But since I joined the Hive ecosystem, I started earning right from my introduction post.
Decentralization
Web 3 platforms provide decentralized networks that enable users to manage their wallets.
Users have full control over their payments, they can decide to sell or keep their earnings anytime.
This is a great feature that is unavailable in the Web 2 platforms.
Web 2.0 is centralized, the owners control how users are paid, and some users' accounts are deleted when they violate the rules, causing them to lose all money they had in the system.
There are some reasons why some individuals are yet to join the Web 3 platform.
The phobias associated with cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies
Due to the serious risk associated with the volatility in the prices of cryptocurrencies, people's anxiety over losing their investments as a result of price changes contributes to the notion that cryptocurrencies are risky and unpredictable.
Assuming I wasn't familiar with cryptocurrency before I joined the Hive ecosystem, it would have been challenging for me to join this wonderful platform.
People are scared to lose their hard-earned money, so some individuals resist anything that deals with cryptocurrencies.
Lack Of Marketing And Awareness
The marketing of Web 3 platforms is limited and I think this is due to a lack of funding. A lot of people are used to the Web 2 platforms. Therefore the Web 3 platform can't reach a large audience due to poor marketing.
Also, the awareness of Web 3 platforms is low, I haven't heard of the Hive ecosystem before I was told about it.
A lot of people are still out there that are yet to be aware of this great opportunity.
I love the @hiveghana community, they are doing a great job in the awareness section about the hive. This is how to go about it and a lot of people will be aware.
Accessibility Difficulty
The Web 3.0 network is not easily accessible. You need technological expertise and skills. Unlike Web 2.0, browsing the internet enables you to easily read about the platforms and get all you need to know about the platform you want to join.
The way things work on Web 3.0 is different; you'll need a mentor to help you because it's so complex.
I always read the guidelines anytime I want to invite a newbie to this platform up to date because I do forget some steps.
It's not a get-rich-quick platform
A lot of people love short-term investment, something like a Ponzi scheme where they can invest their money and receive double their investments within a few days.
This makes it difficult for a lot of people to join the Web 3 Platform.
Once you let some individuals know that it's not a get-rich platform and they need time and consistency to make a substantial amount in the ecosystem, they will immediately lose interest.
Regulatory challenges
Many countries still struggle to regulate cryptocurrencies because they are unsure of how to do so. A lot of countries also banned cryptocurrency activities in their nation due to a lack of clarity over who is in control of it.
Some individuals find it difficult to invest their money in a platform that is not supported by the Government.
In conclusion, the Web 3 platform is the future of the Internet, it has a lot of benefits over the Web 2 platform. The best thing in life is to have control over your funds and this is the major feature that is very interesting in the Web 3 platform.
We need to do more marketing and awareness so that a lot of people can also benefit from this great opportunity.
