Una vez de tantas de las que he cargado a uno de mis gatos, lo coloque sobre mis piernas lo acaricié , después de un rato se bajo, vi en una de mis piernas una cosita blanca tipo gusanito, como de medio centímetro moverse, sí totalmente asqueroso, era un parásito.

Este es el tema que tocaré en esta publicación, los parasitos. Así que mis queridos amigos y compañeros de #Hive aquí voy.

Primero lo primero, vamos a definir que es un parásito

Es un organismo que depende, mejor dicho se alimenta de las sustancias que elabora otro ser vivo y vive en su interior o sobre su anfitrión.

Como ya pudieron leer no sólo existen parásitos internos, también están los externos. Pero hoy les hablaré solo de los internos algunos de ellos, como eliminarlos y de lo importante que es desparasitar a tu mínino o a tu animal de compañía.

Para aquellos que lo desconocen la salud de nuestros gatos puede verse bastante afectada si tiene parásitos sobre todo en gran cantidad, una parasitosis aguda puede hasta matar. Los parásitos son muy comunes en los gatos sobre todo si tienen acceso al exterior y en sus primeras semanas de vida es fundamental la primera desparasitación.

Parásitos internos

Los parásitos internos son aquellos que se alojan principalmente en el intestino de nuestros gatos. El contagio viene del contacto con otros animales infectados (ratones o ratas) sus heces o también de las madres a sus hijos.

Existen algunos síntomas que te indicaran que tú gato tiene parásitos, entre ellos:

😿 Vómitos
😿 Anemia
😿 Abdomen inflamado
😿 Diarrea
😿 Cansancio anormal
😿Pocas ganas de comer y de moverse
😿 Perdida de peso
😿 En gatos cachorros y jóvenes puede retrasar y afectar el crecimiento.

Aunque la mayoría de los parásitos afectan y se alojan en el intestino algunos de otros se alojan en el corazón o los pulmones.

Entre los parásitos mas comunes se encuentran los siguientes :

🚩 Gusanos de forma redonda.
🚩 Gusanos de forma plana (como por ejemplo de las tenias)
🚩 Gusanos con forma de látigo.
🚩 Lombrices con gancho.

También están los gusanos tipo giardias y coccidia de estos últimos he visto casos muy, muy fuertes en gatos adultos a uno de ellos le hizo perder mucho peso y le causo una anemia terrible, bajo seriamente su hemoglobina. Se trataba de un hermoso gato siamés cuya familia se fue del país y lo dejaron atrás en las áreas comunes del edificio donde vivan, al ser un gato de interiores y verse expuesto repentinamente a la calle el estrés, entre otros factores, enfermo, costó mucho recuperarlo y actualmente es un gato feliz que fue adoptado.

Es muy importante que consultes al veterinario sobre cuál desparasitante y en que dosis debes darle a tu gato, ya que no todos los desparasitantes cubren todo el espectro de parásitos existentes, es decir matara unos si y otros no. Además si tu no tienes la suficiente pericia o experiencia para darle medicamentos a tu gato podrías lastimarlo, el puede morderte al sentirse amenazado y al estresarlo es probable que sea cada vez mas difícil darle medicación ya que relacionara los medicamentos con una experiencia desagradable. Al final de la publicación te dejo unos vídeos que te pueden orientar para que se haga mas fácil darle medicamentos a tu gato.

Ahora bien, los veterinarios recomiendan desparasitar a los gatos cada tres meses, para mantener los parásitos a raya. En una de mis próximas publicaciones les contaré sobre los parásitos externos para que sepan cuales son y como combatirlos.

For those who don't know, the health of our cats can be quite affected if they have parasites especially in large numbers, an acute parasitism can even kill. Parasites are very common in cats, especially if they have access to the outside world. In the first weeks of life, the first parasite removal is essential.

Internal parasites

Internal parasites are those that stay mainly in the intestine of our cats. The contagion comes from the contact with other infected animals (mice or rats) their feces or also from mothers to their children.

There are some symptoms that will indicate that your cat has parasites, among them

😿 Vomiting
😿 Anemia
😿 Swollen abdomen
😿 Diarrhea
😿 Abnormal Fatigue
😿 Little eagerness to eat and move
😿 Weight loss
😿 In puppies and young cats it can delay and affect growth.

Although most parasites affect and lodge in the intestine some of the others lodge in the heart or lungs.

Among the most common parasites are the following:

🚩 Round worms.
🚩 Flat worms (such as tapeworms)
🚩 Whipworms.
🚩 Worms with hook.

There are also the giardiac and coccidia type worms of which I have seen very, very strong cases in adult cats. One of these worms made him lose a lot of weight and caused a terrible anemia, seriously lowering his hemoglobin. It was a beautiful Siamese cat whose family left the country and left him behind in the common areas of the building where they live, being an indoor cat and suddenly exposed to the street stress, among other factors, he was sick, it took a lot to recover him and now he is a happy cat that was adopted.

It is very important that you consult your veterinarian about which parasite and in what dose you should give your cat, since not all parasites cover the entire spectrum of existing parasites, that is to say, they will kill some and not others. Also if you don't have enough expertise or experience to give your cat medication you could be hurting her, she may bite you when she feels threatened and when stressed it is likely to become increasingly difficult to give her medication, as she will relate the medication to an unpleasant experience.
