Since I was born and taken to my home, I have had the privilege of living in a place full of greenery, so I love to go to places, call it cafe, restaurant, home or any other, where they appreciate plants, a few months ago I saw a digital press headline that had as title "Modern Hanging Gardens", I did not read it, but that title immediately reminded me of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world "The Hanging Gardens of Babylon", if we investigate they were not hanging as such, its name is due to a bad translation, but what those who have studied its existence describe, must have been really beautiful to be called a wonder. Just imagining it makes me sigh.

Now, when talking about modern hanging gardens, we talk about the trend of using walls and other types of designs in which in some cases, if they are usually involved cables or ropes to suspend them, but usually, it is terraces, balconies, walls to which structures have been added to achieve this purpose, In recent years it has become very fashionable to use pallets for creating furniture and decorating spaces, I love this trend, for me it gives the feeling of a quiet atmosphere and at the same time a cozy place, plus they use those pallets for something useful.

About 5 years ago, on a business trip, I visited a city in Venezuela called San Carlos, the capital of Cojedes state, there the people who received us took us to a restaurant at lunchtime and more than the food, which was delicious, I remember that in their walls created environments using pallets and had a beautiful garden, with plants of various types, but what impressed me most was how humid the plants and the structure looked, as San Carlos is a very hot city.

Desde que nací y me llevaron a mi hogar, he tenido el privilegio de vivir en un lugar lleno de verdor, así que me encanta ir a lugares, llámese café, restaurante, hogar o cualquier otro, donde aprecien a las plantas, hace unos meses vi un titular de prensa digital que tenía como título “Jardines Colgantes Modernos”, no lo leí, pero ese titulo de inmediato me hizo recordar una de las siete maravillas del mundo antiguo “Los Jardines Colgantes de Babilonia”, si investigamos no eran colgantes como tal, su nombre se debe a una mala traducción, pero lo que describen los que han estudiado su existencia, debió ser realmente hermoso para ser denominada una maravilla. De solo imaginarlo suspiro.

No puedo realizar esta publicación sin hacer un poco de historia ya que es imposible hablar de jardines colgantes modernos sin hablar de los de Babilonia, existen varias teorías, historias o leyendas de su origen unos declaran que fueron creados para la esposa de uno de los Reyes ya que ella provenía de un lugar montañoso con vegetación y Babilonia era todo lo opuesto ya que tenía muchas llanuras, otros señalan que fue creado por una reina que fue regente por años, mientras esperaba a que su hijo tuviera la edad suficiente para reinar. Pero a quien se le Hay ocurrido dejo una ,marca en la historia que todavía hoy resuena.

Esta maravilla, en realidad no eran jardines colgantes, el error se debe a una mala de traducción, ya que los jardines se encontraban o estaban distribuidos en forma de terraza o de un balcón, en pocas palabras sobresalían, mas no colgaban. Un artículo de internet los describe así:

Según las crónicas que han trascendido, los jardines colgantes de Babilonia habrían consistido en una edificación compuesta de terrazas escalonadas, construidas con grandes piedras. Las piedras eran la estructura en la que se colocaba la tierra y allí se habrían plantado árboles, flores y arbustos.

Se estima que para el riego de los jardines utilizaron una máquina similar a una noria hidráulica que permitía la elevación del agua. Los arqueólogos han encontrado en las ruinas del Palacio del sur, un pozo que estiman por sus características podría ser asociado al riego de los jardines.

Aquí pueden apreciar dos imagines de cómo se presumen lucían los jardines colgantes de Babilonia, yo particularmente lo imagino lleno de tonos verdes, frescura, pájaros, insectos y todo lo que hace vida en un lugar de este tipo, debió ser realmente algo hermoso de ver.

Ahora bien, al hablar de jardines colgantes modernos, se habla de la tendencia de usar paredes y otro tipo de diseños en los que en algunos casos, si suelen estar involucrados cables o cuerdas para suspenderlos, pero por lo regular, se trata de terrazas, balcones, paredes a las que se han sumado estructuras para lograr dicho propósito, de unos años para acá se ha puesto muy de moda el uso de las paletas para creación de muebles y decoración de espacios, a mi esta tendencia me encanta, para mi da la sensación de un ambiente tranquilo y al mismo tiempo de un lugar acogedor, además de que utilizan esas paletas para algo útil.

Hace aproximadamente 5 años, en un viajé por trabajo, visite una ciudad de Venezuela de nombre San Carlos, la capital del estado Cojedes, allí las personas que nos recibieron nos llevaron a un restaurante a la hora del almuerzo y mas que la comida, que estaba deliciosa, yo recuerdo que en sus paredes crearon ambientes usando paletas y tenían un bellísimo jardín, con plantas de varios tipos, pero lo que mas me impresiono fue lo humedas que lucían las plantas y la estructura, ya que San Carlos es una ciudad muy calurosa.

Si buscan imágenes y referencias de jardines colgantes modernos encontraremos estructuras de este tipo, lamentablemente la foto que tome de aquel hermoso lugar la perdí, ya que ese celular sufrió de lo que llaman muerte súbita y un día simplemente se apago y no encendió más y la información que no se encontraba almacenada en la nube o en la micro SD se perdió.

Muchas veces creemos que, para tener un jardín debemos tener una casa grande espaciosa, con áreas verdes y muchas veces es cierto, pero tras ver este espacio en ese restaurante y la cantidad increíble de imágenes en internet con ideas para estructuras de jardines en casa, en cualquier tipo de espacio, solo me resta pensar que no tengo un jardín colgante en casa, porque no me lo he propuesto, aquí comparto algunas de las imágenes y si quieres ver más, solo pon en el buscador de tu navegador favorito “jardines colgantes modernos” encontraras tantas ideas que no sabrás cual elegir.
