Alright, here with another boring "dev"log, dev in quotations cause it's mainly claude devving it up.
search for users (requested by @angeluxx) has been implemented. You can either search for users in "search scrobbles" and it'll display that this is a user in the results, or by going to /discover there'll be its own user search section
more on-site pages to read posts, comments, snaps, etc. In the past we used to send people to peakd/hive.blog for certain things such as replies, notifications, etc, but starting to load more content on-site moving forward
for tv shows, we've added quite a lot of new things
on /tv there's now a small section showing shows people are actively logging per episode right now while they're watching through them
on the unique shows /watch pages, there's now more things for people to do, such as quickly logging a tv show in the episode calendar and rating it while deciding if you want it to be a log, snap or longer review
we noticed there were previously only ways to log an episode or the whole tv show, but no way to log/rate a specific season so that got added as well
there was a small bug when fetching posters for tv shows using the itunes search API that resulted in completely different tv show posters appearing when certain episodes got logged, that's been fixed now and strengthened for future use
we added a chart exclusion system where if some users are gaming the extension/scrobbles by using multiple browsers/extensions on the same account, we'll be excluding them from the public charts and stats while the scrobbles still show up on their own pages. While there's no monetary incentive to do this, some people just like seeing big numbers I suppose, so they'll have to make due looking at them by themselves from now on
notification split, there's now 2 types of notifications, one from mainly hive activities and one from scrobble activities that we can measure, the idea is mainly for guest accounts in the future to stand out since they'll be mainly on-site (until we figure out guest lite accounts/or other solution)
signed-in pages got much faster, for some reason (something reported by @rubencress) pages on scrobble.life were loading much faster when logged out than logged in, so we took a deepdive into it and noticed some functions were awaiting hive rpc calls until they loaded stuff on that page, this has been rectified as much as possible now which should lead to much faster loading times
Sharing has moved to where sharing happens, shortform content have their own share buttons for a few shortform social media's while longer post have a share button towards reddit as some users have requested (one being @theworldaroundme)
some indexed pages were erroring 404 which has now been fixed as we await the next google crawlers to hopefully update and fix
Subscriptions are now live for Scrobble itself, you can subscribe for $2 or $5 a month and get some perks while we're working on more perks*
Some TV shows were creating multiple pages even though it was the same tv show, this should now be fixed
a lot of mobile sideways-scroll fixes and general usability upgrades for mobile
you can now upload images directly into a section of a post + it works for pasting coped images and not only for uploading saved images from your machine
some scrobble fix with our in-house player to avoid gamification of it
some security audits and small fixes
Thanks everyone for using scrobble.life!
