A post with an update from yesterday, especially for those of you not interested in watching a 20 min video of me rambling.
What is Hive Community Orbit on scrobble.life?
Basically a visualization of different hive activities in the community.
The sun represents the community and grows and shrinks based on pending weekly rewards.
The inner planets represents authors in the community, size based on their HP. The outer planets are voters who are not authors.
The author/inner planets have moons based on active posts they have in the community, those moons have more moons surrounding the moons based on replies on those posts.
Here's a screenshot displaying most of the above:
The lines you see represent votes from voter planets, they're timed based on when they're cast within the first 24h and land on the moon roughly around the same time. When the post pays out, the moon, along with its moons, explodes and displays rewards earned of the post as well as comments on it. Then the ships go quickly back to their original voter planets to return curation rewards.
Here's a moon close to paying out as an example.
While there's still some visuals to improve, such as giving planets texture and different colors to separate them from moons better, I like the way it looks so far.
Now if you know me, that's not where I usually stop. So I decided to add a free roam fly mode where you're in your own spaceship flying around the solar system. And since you can see the users active in the community, the moons that represent the posts, etc, why not also see the actual content - while listening/scrobbling music?!
You got it.
When you approach planets, it'll tell you which accounts they represent in a holographic text shooting out of the dark side of the planet/moon.
But why stop at voters, why not also read the posts on here directly?
Wait, why stop at reading, why not include voting up the posts as well and replying on them?
Something feels off, space is quite quiet isn't it, why not, I don't know, have music in your spaceships cockpit? Oh, what if it can also be scrobbled, makes sense right? You got it.

Come check it out, let us know if things are working as they should and if you have any other cool ideas of what you'd like to do on there!
