Playing with Crypto
origin
I created Nobel last year on the Steem protocol. It was a test, a try to be able to create a cryptocurrency.
Establishing a new, effective donation System
But I also wanted to establish a system, where a community supports charity helpers. My goal was to be more efficient than NGOs, to bring about 95% of the donations to the targets. I made some mistakes, for example I spread to much token to too many people.
NOBEL goes CHARY
Then with the Steem/Hive war, I had to decide how to go on and so I switched to HIVE and with this I got the chance to start from scratch. I created The CHARY System, which works the same like NOBEL, but with 1/10 less token production and with less people staking it. I made some airdrops for the old NOBEL stakers.
You can get CHARY by writing a post with the hive protocol (i.e. on https://peakd.com or https://chary.org) and using the hashtag "chary". When you get upvotes by the CHARY stakers, you earn CHARY token. This you can sell (and buy) at https://hive-engine.com. I buy regularly CHARY token to bring money into the system. My goal was to support only people, that help other people and write about it. But there are also people, that post pictures from their food or make some selfies and then abuse the chary-hashtag. So about 10% of my money goes to the free riders. One can see the sellers of CHARY here: @achimmertens/wallet
Originally I hoped, the chary community would up- and downvote the posts on hive. Therefore they get 5 % curation reward. And with this, there should be no or at least very few abuse. But this community is not build/working yet. When I talked about it with my wife Annette, she stated, that she could support me. So I created a new Hive account and onboarded @annettemertens. She has the same CHARY power than me, so she is also a whale.
I got a chat with @rollie1212 (also known as
@cryptobrewmaster). He mentioned, that the chary idea is in principle good, but in detail there are some deficits. For example:
People and projects on my whitelist are worthy to be supported (from my point of view). They have proven to be trustworthy and usually deliver good quality of proof of charity.

I have created a table with people and projects, that have proven to me in the past, that they are worthy to be supported. So with my regular chary posts I show this list and motivate the community to upvote them.
I have also created a blacklist with people, that plagiarize or abuse the chary hashtag regularly. I hope, one day they will understand, that it doesn't pay off to try to trick the system.
Donators: They shall get a way to simply donate their money to people in need, without an NGO, a man in the middle. It should be very efficient. They just shall buy chary and burn it. And they shall know, that the money is in good hands. They can see the results on https://chary.org
Curators: This is more or less the NGO community. It consists of people, that have staked CHARY. They decide, where the money shall go.
The recipients: These are people, that do good things and write about it. They get the chary and they shall sell it. The money is meant for them and their projects.
