Today I harvested my first tomatoes and I am happy with the result. As I shared with you in previous posts, I had not planned to plant tomatoes this year, but I'm glad for the resilience of the seeds that clung to life, germinated, and bore great fruit.
Heute habe ich meine ersten Tomaten geerntet, und ich bin mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden. Wie ich euch in früheren Posts mitgeteilt habe, hatte ich nicht geplant, dieses Jahr Tomaten zu pflanzen, aber ich bin auch froh über die Widerstandsfähigkeit der kleine Samen, die sich ans Leben klammerten, keimten und Früchte trugen.

I decided to harvest the tomatoes from the lower part of the plants because it will be raining heavily tonight and I wanted to avoid the rain splashing them on the ground to avoid possible infection of the fruit. As you can see in this photo, some of them have not finished ripening, but in this case, I don't think it will be a big problem. I will leave them in a dry and safe place to finish their process.

Here is a final sample. The color is deep red and to the touch, the tomato appears to be just right. They also have the pungent smell of a real tomato. succulent!
