Tribal conficts was once an issue in the mountains of cordillera and to claim the head of an enemy is a tradition and an art of war of these mighty warriors that once roam these lands.
My Childhood friend Kenneth Banasan( is also in the picture) who has a kalinga blood, used to share the stories of his ancestors.
According to Kenneth, the warriors takes the head of the victims and take them to their village and burry the head into the soil for the head to quickly decay until the skull will be the only remain.

The other tribe can still claim back the remains or the skull of their love ones when both tribes can negotiate on a certain conditions.
Ps: not a real human head lol, it was used as a props for an indie film depicting the traditions of these mighty tribes.
