Today I added another card my Splinterlands collection. This time I purchased the Charlok Minotaur. It is a Common Fire Unit. I bought it for a total 42.50 DEC. Whenever I purchase a card I do not think about adding it to my collection. I also think about how useful the card can be in battles and how I can include it in team combinations. After looking at the stats of Charlok Minotaur I felt that this card could become an addition to my collection if I use it in the battle and with the right strategy.
Charlok Minotaur has a Mana Cost of 8 at Level 1. This means it is not a low-Mana card so I need to think before using it in battle. When the Battle has a Mana Cap I can use this type of Unit more comfortably. The card has 3 Attack, 1 Speed and 10 Health at Level 1. The 10 Health is one of the things I like most about this card because having Health can help a Unit stay alive for a time in battle.
The Speed of Charlok Minotaur is 1 at the level so it is not a very fast attacker. Because of this I need to consider the enemy lineup before placing it in my team. Faster enemy cards may get the opportunity to attack first. However the cards good Health and solid Attack can help compensate for its Speed. As I gain experience with this card I will be able to understand which situations are best for using it.
The higher levels also show improvements in its statistics. The Health can change at levels and at Level 10 it reaches 13. This means that an upgraded Charlok Minotaur can be significantly stronger than the Level 1 version.
The Abilities are also a part of this card. At the levels the card has one Ability while another Ability becomes available at a level. This makes upgrading the card more interesting to me because I am not only increasing its statistics but also gaining options for using it in battles. Course the real value of an Ability depends on the Battle Ruleset, the enemy lineup and the other cards I choose for my team.
I am also interested in trying Charlok Minotaur in positions. Because it has 10 Health at Level 1 I can consider using it in the position when I need a Unit that can take some damage and remain in the battle. However its low Speed means that I should not use it without thinking about the team strategy. If I already have another strong Tank available I can also experiment with positions. See where Charlok Minotaur performs best.
A card may look strong on its own. Its actual performance depends on the Summoner, Ruleset Mana Cap and the other Units on the team. That is why I do not want to judge Charlok Minotaur based on its statistics. I want to use it in battles and learn from my experience.
Since Charlok Minotaur belongs to the Fire Element it is also an addition to my Fire collection. I always like having types of cards because every battle can require a different strategy. Sometimes I need damage sometimes I need Health and sometimes a specific Ability can make a difference. Having Charlok Minotaur in my collection gives me another option when I build my Fire team.
I spent 42.50 DEC to add this card to my collection. For me this is not simply an expense. It is another step toward building a flexible Splinterlands collection. Every new card gives me another opportunity to experiment with team combinations and improve my understanding of the game.
I especially want to test Charlok Minotaur in higher-Mana battles because of its 8 Mana Cost. In those battles I can build a team around it without having to sacrifice too many other Units. I also want to see how it performs against types of opponents. Sometimes a card can perform depending on the enemy lineup so actual battle experience will be important.
Another reason I enjoy collecting cards like this is that every new purchase gives me a goal. Now that Charlok Minotaur is part of my collection I can slowly work toward collecting copies and upgrading it. Reaching levels will take time because the number of required cards increases significantly but that also makes the journey more interesting for me.
Overall I am very happy to have purchased Charlok Minotaur. Added it to my Splinterlands collection. Its 8 Mana Cost, 3 Attack, 1 Speed and 10 Health at Level 1 give me a starting point for experimenting with it. As the card is upgraded, its Attack, Speed, Health and Abilities can become stronger making it more interesting for battles.
For me every new card is more than another item in my collection. It gives me an opportunity to learn, experiment and create battle strategies. Charlok Minotaur is now another part of that journey. I am looking forward to using this looking Fire Unit in my battles and finding out through my own experience where it can perform best. I hope that with copies and some upgrades, in the future I will be able to make better use of this card and continue improving my Splinterlands collection step by step.
