I know Damilare and I were not ready to have a baby but what if that happens? That wasn’t really the issue but what kind of a pregnant lady will I be? Will I be the lazy one, sexy pregnant girl or that one who’s gonna be tying a wrapper around my waist even though I’m going to far destinations?
Baby, imagine that I am pregnant but left our house to say hi to mum for a few days, how will you take care of me over the phone? Does it even seem like something that you will be able to do?, My man was shocked by my question but before he went on, he asked me if I was really pregnant to know if he’s in a trouble but I wasn’t.
I was busy checking Yhemolee’s posts on Instagram about his pregnant wife and the things she went through during pregnancy. I saw him make different videos of his wife especially when she was being naughty due to pregnancy cramps. I suddenly found myself in that pregnancy mood and my man, Damilare just has to go with the flow.
*Hello baby. Is my boy kicking? And I hope my boy isn’t giving you some kind of trouble?,” I could see the look on my man’s face when he asked that question on a video call.
Yes baby. Our baby is kicking and I threw up twice today, even before I could complete that statement, I saw the look on my mum’s face.
The more my man asked me further questions, the more I looked at my mum’s face. Maybe she got scared that her daughter was really pregnant.
I could not resist the urge to keep staring at her so I walked just like a pregnant woman would walk down to my room so my man and I can continue to have our pregnancy conversation.
Gently baby. Do not fall, my mum hearing my man say that even got her more annoyed. I knew she could not wait for me to end the call so that she can pounce on me if that was really what she had in mind.
Abojode!!!!, I heard my mum calling me from the living room. I shook my legs angrily on the bed. My man and I were enjoying the pregnancy conversation but my mum calling me just ruined the whole vibe. Once my mum is angry, it’s better to do what she wants immediately to avoid further talks because I may be the one to later regret it.
I got to the living room and was asked to sit. My mum came close to me to check my palms and eyeballs to confirm if I was truly pregnant. Without her saying a word, I knew already what she meant by checking my palms and other parts of my body.
I saw that her eyes got red in just a few minutes. My mum could not hide her anger.
What’s the meaning of the nonsense you and Damilare were performing?, I knew that was what my mum wanted to ask. I was right! How will I explain to my mum that I was only daydreaming because of a post I saw on Instagram. She’s an African mum and no matter how much I try to explain, my mum won’t try to understand.
Mum, we’re just joking. No one is pregnant here and you’ve at least checked my palms, eyes and even other parts of my body so I’m safe. We were just daydreaming, I was saying the truth but can’t still look into my mum’s face.
My angry mum would do anything at that moment especially when she knows that it was just a prank.
Daydreaming kwa!!!!, she screamed. I didn’t know when I burst into laughter. I wasn’t meant to laugh but her expression made me laugh. She dragged me from the chair and gave me a thorough check till she confirmed I was not pregnant.
I kept laughing because I couldn’t hide it no more. That’s what a typical African mother will do and ahe proved herself for the umpteenth time.
I actually enjoyed the conversation with my man but I was not in that pregnant mood again. I got back inside and saw that I missed his video calls twice.
He called again and requested that we resumed the conversation but I lost the vibe already.
My pregnant mood died from a hundred to zero. I enjoyed the short time when I was mentally pregnant though and hope we do it again but that’s gonna be when mum isn’t around so she doesn’t give me the African mother vibe like she did the last time.
