There is momentum once again. You can feel it in the air. A collective confidence across the old guard and an influx of new enthusiastic Cryptocurrency youngsters and newbies wet behind the ears. There is money to be made and the time is now.
For those who don't know, thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia. It began as a day to give thanks for the harvest many moons ago. Of course there are less farmers today as there once was, but the harvest is still important, as we all need food to survive and thanksgiving is to give thanks for life, friends, health and happiness too. One could look upon the harvest metaphorically in these modern times, as we harvest friendships, families and life.
It's just under two weeks now until thanksgiving happens, when youngsters spread throughout their home countries and further afield flock home to enjoy a meal with their families. A big dinner with the family is the keystone of the festivities and of course there will be lots of tales and yarns and opinions exchanged. Some will bring tales of the gains they have made through Cryptocurrency investments like Leo finance, money made by playing games like Splinterlands, zeroes added to bank accounts by posting about their interests on Hive blog and friendships made with people across continents and projects started or contemplated. Others around the table will listen carefully, as mostly everyone likes the idea of having a bit more money in their pockets.
More Money in your Pockets
There will be those around the table who have heard it before, those it is new too and even those who dipped a toe into Crypto waters a few years back when Bitcoin raced to $20K then dropped again suddenly. The latter group may have been burnt and sold at 50% losses, but with Bitcoin now hovering around $65K, that cohort will be cursing themselves for missing at least x3 gains that they could have realised had they had patience.
I fully expect that Thanksgiving this year will be the catalyst for a further Crypto Bull cycle in the lead up to Christmas, with a likely run on the most popular coins and most likely a valve release a few times along the way as seasoned Cryptocurrency folk have become accustomed to.
It's important to remember that shares, investments and particularly Cryptocurrency will not go up indefinitely, but peak and trough in what can often be repeating cycles of trends. So, don't freak out of you see your holdings drop by 10% or more. Instead exercise some patience. You should have done your due diligence before pouring your hard earned cash into anything, so trust your judgement, unless the fundamentals upon which you have based your investments have changed.
Patience is a virtue
I've discussed this nexp point recently with @fermentedphil and
@niallon11 in comments sections of some posts. We live in an age where everything is instant. Instant messaging, on demand tv, streaming content services at the click of a button, everything and anything delivered to your door step. If one was so inclined they could live out the rest of their lives without setting foot outside their front door and for me that's a sad refelction on the way society has gone. In the words of rock legends Queen, so many seem to want it all and want it now. Patience seems to be a rare commodity and one that's getting rarer. We can apply the principle easily to Hive. How many people have we seen fleetingly over the years expecting to be an overnight success without putting in the hard work and forging relationships? They then disappear and lose out on their potential. They were early to the blockchain party, but were too blind to see the innovations and potential for this transformative technology, and left as quick as they appeared because those early posts did not make a return. The truth is those early posts are scarcely read by anyone, as no-one knows that you have joined until you make the effort to make yourself known. I hope these people did invest in some projects and coins and did not walk away altogether.
Early Days
Truth be told, we are all still early adopters. Cryptocurrency has the potential to become the currency of the world, yet less than 4% of the world's population owns or understands Cryptocurrency. Something worth noting about these 300 million individuals also are the following facts:
Owners Demographics:
79% male, 21% female
58% are aged under 34
82% have a Bachelor’s degree or higher
36% have an annual income over US$100k
These facts tell us that the young, the educated and the rich are all very much involved in this eco system and that many more will follow them as the days pass and weeks become months and years.
Now is the time to invest your time and money if you wish. I believe it is highly likely that your 10 year from now self will be very happy that you did, as the opportunities all around us today will not remain indefinitely. As the masses pour in the prizes diminish, so be sure to capitalise on your early adopter status.
That's it from me. Thanks for stopping by.
