For the last few days I've been thinking about what theme I could use for my music-share post this week and decided I'd simply shuffle-play my liked songs playlist on Spotify and use the first three songs that played.
Nice... I also use this method sometimes and it can be fun to see what comes out from your playlist..
It's a Vietnam War era song about a young American soldier who strikes up a pen-pal relationship with a young girl back home in which he talks about the war and his experiences. Towards the end of the song the girl is at a football game where the list of recent Vietnam dead is read out; the young soldiers' name is listed...but only she recognises it, indicating that no one really cared about the young soldier. It's sad, but a lovely song.
Wow, knowing the history of the song makes it a very special song, I enjoyed that now I must say.
Good auld tunes from Jewel and Aerosmith too Becca, a very good trio of tunes, good on ya.
