Interesting outlook. I'm not a fan of debt either. I avoid it whenever possible. Since buying our house 2 years ago, there have been things we needed. Changes to boundary wall - around €1500. New gate - around €1500. New suite of furniture for sitting room - around €2700. Paint outside and most rooms inside - around €1000, did majority of labour myself. New light fittings - around €1000.
For all of these, I saved up... No loans... Just patience and did without a few things... Next we want to tarmac the drive. Have started saving but this one will be €15k at least I reckon, so debating whether to save half and borrow half as it would be great to get it done quickly for kids with basketball, scooters, skateboards etc..
