Here I am 15 days later my friend. Firstly I'm so sorry for missing you out on the showcase, I somehow missed this excellent post. Not only did you share music from three strong independent women, but you also shared your valuable perspective on prejudice, objectification and safety just walking down the street for the women of this world - our mothers, our sisters, our aunts, our cousins, our friends, our colleagues, perfect strangers. As a man I am so lucky to not face such issues and I appreciate the insight and information shared.
You bring up racism too, which disgracefully is still an issue in this modern age. I cannot understand how this can be the case in this day and age and i will always call it out when it happens in my presence. So called "casual racism" can be heard from time to time and I dislike this term, let's call it "hateful racism" or "despicable racism" instead and shame anyone who partakes in it. I heard a great qoute recently that stated:
"the standards we walk past are the standards we accept"
Stop walking past guys. Call out the racist, the sexist or the ignorant for what they are.
Back to the Tunes I love Amy and Nina and you picked some of my favourites here 👍🎼
