It's tough being a parent! That's nothing new you say, it's been that way for years, just get on with it!
But, I think in the media-centric information age we live in, it is truer than ever. We are bombarded constantly with headlines, studies, billboards, updates, tweets, twats, the works! And the thing is, there is no consistency!
What will I give little Mikey for his breakfast? Cereal is healthy right..
Right?
Newspaper article: "Your child needs vitamins! 5 out 8 children are deficient in zinc, potassium, B12, B7 and B156789"
Health Study: "Breakfast cereals are over fortified with vitamins and may cause harm to your children"
Billboard: "Every bite of these crispy, golden flakes are filled with essential vitamins and minerals"
Readers Digest: "Top 6 vitamins that could be killing you slowly"
Twitter: "My son just ate 6 boxes of cornflakes. Does that mean I shouldn't give him cereal for a few weeks?"
Ah feck it, I'll just give him a bar of chocolate!
For those not familiar with the freewrite, you basically have 5 minutes to write a story, beginning to end. Then post it to your page.
Thanks so much to @mariannewest and her helpers who keep this going. I really enjoy taking part and I would encourage you to do that same.
This weeks prompt was "Vitamins" and the post can be found here https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-120-5-minute-freewrite-friday-prompt-vitamins
