After being away for a crazy stag weekend, this was the perfect tonic to set me right on the Sunday evening. The weekend was top notch, with surfing, a whiskey distillery tour, and a good old catch up with old friends, and there may have been a pint or fourteen....
So, after two days and nights and a four hour drive home, I quickly unpacked the car, ordered an Indian curry from my local Indian restaurant and then, I had a decision to make..
They all had promise, and they all looked good, but in the end the Brewdog got the nod of approval.. I've had some of their beers before and they were always solid.
Brewdog are a Scottish craft brewery which are around for over ten years. They started all the way back in April 2007 and have grown year after year, they make great beers and I like the brand.
So, as i said above, the task was to help with my hangover, and over all Sunday jitters, and it passed with flying colours... It went down so good with the curry...
Nothing too crazy going on with the can, but I do like the design, but it is a little bland, compared to some of the really cool can and bottle labels you see these days.
This one pours a clear golden colour, and looks like a regular beer. Luckily that is where the likeness ends. This one is nice and tasty, with sweet hoppy smell on opening, and taste is Bitter citrus, grapefruit, with a little bit of pine perhaps. It is medium bodied, with fine carbonation. The head was a nice size, and lacing was apparent. Aftertaste is hoppy, with malt also coming through.
An altogether decent beer and one I will try again for sure.
