Taking a critical look at what discipline entails, it will be observed that discipline is a means oi bringing to the notice of children the importance of obedience to the teachers, parents and the elderly in the society.
It is said that "childhood shows a mamas morning shows the day”. In consequence, what the future of our society will be in relative to social vices and other inordinate behaviours depends on it.
Therefore, if our society is going to change for the better, there is an assignment for us as individuals to foster discipline at homes, as it is said that ”charity
begins at home".
Disobedience which has been on the increase among children to their parents is so much appalling that the teaching about morals by parents to their children is becoming a thing of the past.
lndiscipline has evidently been a cog in the wheel of a good attitude amongst children with it being disseminated at a high rate.
At this juncture, without mincing words, if our society is going to change from its level of moral decadence, all hands must be on deck not only the parents, but all who are'yeaming for a better future for the growing children who are the hope of tomorrow.
But in order to achieve this right attitude, they need to
be trained aright.
So, I say 'discipline is a medication to curb and cure the infirmity of our decaying world." Discipline does not kill but rather mould character and saves lives from impending doomimpending doom. **
