Ofen it baffles me when MY NEIGHBOUR keeps complaining about the government, about the corrupted state of the system, the mismanagement of funds, the self interest guided constitutional amendment, the continuous injustice, the unending nepotism in every aspect of the governance.... Then I say to my self; truly all what MY NEIGHBOUR has said is actually true, the system is obviously messed up, everything is wrong with the governance, often I do jokingly tell my friends that our ancestors have wasted their precious time doing irrelevant stuff, busy doing "Sango and Oko Oya" etc.. which is actually true, the Bible say; when the foundation is destroyed what shall the righteous do.. But again I ask my self; what is My Neighbour doing that makes My Neighbor more better than those running the system My Neighbor claimed corrupt?... Same Neighbor who will dump trash on the tiled road, will prefer to take a "one way road" than to obey the traffic law, will build a house without a proper toilet, will insist on paying bribe instead of renewing an expired drivers license, will prefer to damage a street light pole all in the name of making a "U Turn", same Neighbor who will clearly read a speed limit and will still not be bordered about it...and so on.... I think my neighbour has lost the right to point fingers at the Government; "Jesus said, if anyone of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her", if my Neighbour could posses all these characters definitely if my neighbour was privileged to get to the system, My Neighbour won't be anything different. So before we start throwing stones of accusation at the government we should first check ourselves are we any better, what are the things we are doing that is proving the fact that we actually want a corrupt free country, are we properly dumping our waste, are we obeying the traffic law, are We making sure that government infrastructure are not damaged by our carelessness, are we not engaging in any form of bribery... It's high time we stop the accusation and put things in place, right from the root, let's curb corruption right from the root, if the country is corrupt, it's in one way or the other our contributions. A wise man once said; knowing what is wrong doesn't make a difference, what makes a difference is making it right!!!
*Note: This article was not written base on self righteousness neither was it written to point fingers at anybody.... The essence of this article is to bring to our notice the fact that when we are busy pointing fingers at the government, are we sure we have the right to do so...... Let's check our ways and first curb the corruption at our own part before pointing any finger
