There are many things in our world that once existed but have now completely vanished, with little chance of ever returning. You have likely heard about dinosaurs; while they once roamed the earth, not a trace of them remains today鈥攚e only hear stories about them, and beyond that, we have no direct knowledge. Although science and archaeology have uncovered a great deal about them, the reality is that dinosaurs can never be seen again. Similarly, there are many things that were once common but are no longer found today鈥攖hings that have, in a sense, gone extinct. Returning to the topic at hand: if we were to possess the power to bring back anything from the past that has been lost, people would have vastly different ideas about what to restore, as everyone has their own cherished memories of things that are no longer around. You, too, likely think of things that were once popular or held a special place in your heart but have since disappeared鈥攖hings that, effectively, have vanished from existence.

If I were to possess the power to bring back the lifestyle of the past, I would certainly do so. Life in those days was incredibly peaceful. Even just twenty or thirty years ago, people led very tranquil lives; this was especially true in remote areas where, despite a lack of certain modern amenities, life was simple and serene, and people managed to get by with ease. It was not the hectic, fast-paced existence we see today鈥攚here, despite the abundance of conveniences, true peace is missing and life has become fraught with stress. Back then, people did not worry about landing a "good" job or face career-related anxieties; instead, they relied on farming to sustain their families and make a living. They cultivated crops and engaged in the exchange of produce鈥攁 way of life and a form of interaction that is rarely seen anymore.
In today's world, while lifestyles have become modern, certain elements have completely vanished from people's lives. Primarily, people are now concerned only with themselves, interacting with others only when they have a specific need or task to accomplish. Life in the past was different; people helped one another and stood by each other through both joy and sorrow. There was a strong sense of unity and brotherhood鈥攓ualities that are rarely seen today. Nowadays, people are constantly anxious about their jobs and face immense pressure, a situation that company owners exploit to make employees work on their own terms. Knowing the scarcity of jobs, employers instill a fear of unemployment in workers; this ensures that the employee is consumed by job-related anxiety while the owner sits back comfortably, offloading all the stress onto the staff. This dynamic did not exist in the past. Most people were farmers who cultivated their own land; families worked together to grow various grains and vegetables, living contentedly and without stress. Although they may not have had the elaborate dishes available today, their lives were filled with happiness and peace, even with simple meals.
Although I never witnessed those times myself, our elders used to share stories about what life was like back then鈥攁 period marked by significant hardship and struggle. Today, we have modernity and every conceivable comfort at our disposal, yet people remain unhappy; ultimately, what is the point of such modern amenities and luxuries if one lacks inner happiness? Sometimes I think how wonderful it would be if that old way of life returned, for today鈥檚 people lack contentment鈥攜ou can see the constant, frantic rush in their lives. Arrogance and hubris have crept in, and people now try to belittle one another.
The atmosphere has deteriorated significantly; if you look around, you see this same kind of environment everywhere. There are very few places left where peace prevails; instead, people everywhere are chasing money and trying to pull each other down. When people earn a little money, arrogance sets in, and so much goes wrong鈥攜et, ultimately, what is the point of all this if there is no love for others? Life in ancient times offered far more peace and contentment than today; people lived simple lives, maintained loving relationships with one another, and possessed gentle, uncomplicated natures.
It would be so wonderful if that same time came back.
